Yesterday was my last day of work:: 6.27.2002 ::
I think I should feel relieved but I dont really have any feelings at all.
I feel kinda bummed for my friend john, who I've worked with for 3+ years. But he'll manage.
I think Im still in kind of a daze.
Well were off to Pennsylvania now for my friend nicks wedding.
Back in about 3 days.
Then we get to start the packing thing.
How the hell do you pack up 5 years worth of crap?

Ok heres the story
Me (zachary) and my fiancee/life partner/soul mate/significant other (Tabitha) are taking a big gamble.
We're not gambling folks by nature, but I think we've finally had it.
We've been working the dreaded office job for five years now in "The Big City" (Boston. Ok ok, so its not so big).
Tabitha has been working for the evil empire (Fleet Bank) as a web designer, and I've been working for an odd University in Waltham (Brandeis) as a Sys admin, web guy, jack of all trades.
We both made good salaries but thats not the whole point is it? Cant be...
We were running short on good cheer, and life satisfaction.
So we said fuck it.
Our house (its really a condo, only 900 sf) that we bought 3 years ago has appreciated considerably, and we got an offer on it, so we took it.
Figured we'd take a year off.
Ok stop laughing...
We can do it!
We saved up a bunch of scratch over the last couple of years, and with the proceeds of the house were going to buy a Porsche.
Oh wait no were not.
Were going to put a bunch of it in savings, and then go live with my Dad down on Cape Cod.
Jeez, again with the laughing?
WE CAN DO IT!!
Well, at least I think we can. Guess well find out.
Technically we dont need to be anywhere until September of 2003. I'm going to go to The Landing School of Boatbuilding and Design in Kennebunk ME for a year or so.
You know learn a trade, and all that jazz.
I like boats so why not?
And besides Tabitha said she'd support me while I did this, so the time must be right.
